Dr. Eleanor Donegan is a Registered Psychologist in Ontario with specializations in Clinical and Health Psychology for adults and adolescents. She received her B.A. in Psychology from the University of British Columbia and completed her M.A. and Ph.D. in Psychology at Concordia University, Montréal, Québec. Her graduate research focused on assessing the effectiveness of psychological treatments for anxiety and mood disorders, with a particular focus on treatments for Generalized Anxiety Disorder (i.e., chronic and excessive worry and anxiety). She completed her pre-doctoral internship at St. Joseph's Healthcare Hamilton, in the Anxiety Treatment and Research Clinic, the Mood Disorders Program and Schizophrenia Services, and then completed a Postdoctoral Fellowship in the Anxiety Treatment and Research Clinic and the Women's Health Concerns Clinic.
Dr. Donegan continues to work part-time in the Women's Health Concerns Clinic and Anxiety Treatment and Research Clinic at St. Joe's. She conducts diagnostic assessments and provides psychological treatment services, with an emphasis on cognitive behaviour therapy (CBT), to adults and adolescents with anxiety and mood disorders, obsessive-compulsive disorder, or chronic pain. She also has experience in working with women with anxiety, depression and related difficulties during repreductive milestones (e.g., pregnancy, post-partum, the menopausal transition).
